And so the madness begins...

I remember when my Sister was planning her wedding, nearly 12 years ago now, things seemed more straight forward or at least they did to me! You wanted to look for invitations you got a book from a printers with ideas in it etc but not now.

Having got engaged and having 'free' time on my hands in between job hunting I decided to start looking into this whole planning a wedding thing...oh my goodness...there is SO much out there!

I started looking for for inspiration and there seems to be a website for EVERYTHING! I've been using Pinterest for years now and I would say it's the girly equivalent to playing on an XBox or something similar, I say that because when HTB (Husband to be) play on his XBox I'm on Pinterest! I love Pinterest and I've been using it along with other amazing websites that I think I have got myself a little overwhelmed with everything. I'm now at the point of I probably need to stop looking at things and need to start making decisions about things.

I also love that people are being helpful and making suggestions but sometimes those suggestions just confuse the situation more and aren't all that helpful. With all that said though there are a few of things that have been decided already: It's going to be as low cost as possible which means DIY as much as possible.

We have a date which is early next September The where, which will be my hometown of Darlington We have a rough colour scheme as HTB is Scottish and has a tartan which also means we will be having a ceilidh which will be awesome!

Every cloud has a silver lining and all that jazz

Well this is kind of the opposite of that I guess...

We got engaged on 9th February and it was perfect!

We had a perfect lazy Saturday; meander around a vintage fair, treated to lunch & home to watch the rugby which ended with both of our teams winning! We then settled down to watch a film & he popped off to make a brew & came back with a brew & a ring & of course I said yes!

It was so perfect, perfect for us at least! I apologise for the over use of the word perfect but it truly was.

And then...I came crashing back down to earth 4 days later, Valentines Day of all days, when I lost my job for reasons which seem unfathomable to me but hey ho!

As you can imagine life has been a bit of an emotional roller coaster but in between job hunting I have been doing wedding planning to keep me sane, as sane as you can be with wedding planning!
